breast, leg, thigh) |
1. Sanctioned by International Bar-B-Que Cookers
Association, IBCA Rules Apply
2. The category to be judged is Beef Brisket, Pork Ribs,
Poultry, Beans and Chili
3. Contestants may check in beginning at 12:00 p.m. till
9:00 p.m. Friday, October 3rd, 2008.
4. Entries are due at check-in.
5. All cooking teams must be in place by 9:00 p.m.
Friday, October 3rd, 2008.
6. A team consists of a Chief Cook and three assistants.
7. The entries are to be judged from noon to 3:00 p.m.,
Saturday, October 4th.
8. A 40x40 foot area will be available for each team.
9.
Contestants must supply all needed equipment and
supplies. Contestants may NOT
share cooking equipment. Each space with an entry must
have a separate pit and
chief cook. Under NO circumstances will one person be
allowed to monitor the
cooking on several pits. Violations will result in
disqualification.
10. The Buda Fire Fest WILL NOT be responsible for theft
or damage to equipment.
11. Fires must be wood or wood substance. No electric or
gas fires will be allowed. Holes or
dug pits are NOT permitted.
12. The Chief Cook will be held responsible for the
conduct of his guests. Excessive use of
alcoholic beverages will be grounds for
disqualification.
13. Entry Fee
- $100.00 for one or all categories, $10.00 for jackpot
bean category.
14. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place in
all categories.
16. Prize money will be 75% of all Entries.
1 to 10 teams 1 Place 75% of entry fees
11 to 20 teams 2 Places 50% and 25% of entry fees
21 teams and up 3 Places 40%, 20%, and 15% of entry fees
17. Contest committeemen reserve the right to make
additional regulations as situations
warrant. Decisions of the committee chairmen and judges
are final.
18. Please supply samples of all meats to the general
public in attendance.
19. Camping is allowed on site, All units must be
self-contained. WATER or ELECTRICITY is NOT AVAILABLE.
20. All teams will receive one (1) 40 X 40 Space.
